Mountain Store Citizens Race Series- December 10, 2011

The Citizens Race Series is competitive and fun for all ages and abilities. Races are held at scenic locations within our groomed trail network. Beginning with 10km lengths in early December, race distances increase 20km leading up to the Alley Loop in early February. Point totals are recorded in order to crown champions at the end of the season. Please join us for these great training and social races!

Cost: $12.00 Adults / $10.00 Members / $2 Children under 12
Register at Nordic Center before 9:30am. Races start at 10am sharp. 
Race venues are subject to weather and conditions.
Venues will be posted at the Nordic Center the week of each race.

2011 Night of Lights- December 2nd

2011 Night of Lights in downtown Main Street Gunnison
December 2, 5:30pm

The theme this year will be "Ginger Bread Christmas". Main street will be closed to traffic from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and the event will begin at 5:30pm. Anything may be entered as long as it has LIGHTS. There will be food, live entertainment, and SANTA. Santa will arrive and escort families to light the community Christmas tree at 6:30pm. Whether you are a local who is determined to win the Citizens Series trophy or a visitor who has come to take advantage of our early season on-snow Thanksgiving Camp, we’ve got something for everybody. Join us the second weekend of November at the annual Nordic Ski Swap, wine and dine with us Thanksgiving weekend at the Silent Auction Dinner, show off your backcountry Nordic skills at the Super Tour, or take skiing to a whole new level with the Elk Mountains Grand Traverse.

Sugar Plum Festival- November 19, 2011

The yuletide season kicks off in Gunnison with the 37th Annual Sugar Plum Festival on Nov. 19, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Fred R. Field Western Heritage Center. Don't miss this prime stop for handmade gifts such as wreaths made out of sagebrush, Christmas tree decorations, quilted tree skirts and table runners, stained glass, pottery, jewelry and canned goods. Approximately 75 booths, a visit from Santa Claus, food and more make the Sugar Plum Festival a sweet experience.
