Nordic Ski Swap- November 10, 2012

2012 Ski Swap, November 10 at 9 am

Bring your new and used Nordic, Alpine Touring, and Telemark equipment to the Crested Butte Nordic Council’s annual Ski Swap for a 20% consignment, and shop among hundreds of great new and used bargains! Snowshoes, clothing, and accessories on sale too! Proceeds from your consignment benefit the Crested Butte Nordic Council.

When:
Drop off: Friday, November 9, 9 am – 7 pm
Ski Swap: Saturday, November 10, 9am – 2pm
Pick Up: Saturday, November 10, 2 pm – 5 pm, or Monday, November 12
After 5 PM Monday all remaining items will be donated.

Teens on State- November 8-11

Teens on Stage: November 8, 9, 10 & 11th 

Achilles and Helen get picked on at school--a lot. Achilles has a regular date with a bully who flushes his head in the toilet, and Helen has become so afraid of the girls who ridicule her that she invents reasons to be late. So when cool girl Glinda, their "bully buddy," appears and offers them a way out, they jump at the chance. But when they realize Glinda's solution is to turn them into bullies, they both resist--and she sends them back to a school that is even worse than the one they left. Their only means of escape is to try it Glinda's way. But does saving themselves mean becoming the very people who have tormented them?

Thank You for Flushing My Head in the Toilet...and other rarely used expressions by Jonathan Dorf, is what's often called a dramedy, in that it uses a strong dose of comedy to tackle an ultimately serious subject. Co-Directed by Ian Wrisley and Leah Wrisley, CBMT presents this annual Teens on Stage Production, November 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th at the Mallardi Cabaret. This all-teen production will show at 7:30 pm with a Sunday Matinee at 4:00 pm and tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for members and $10 for students. More information.

Location: Western State Colorado University Pool and Gym 17
Requirements: Students are to obtain the PADI Manual and DVD from Extended Studies at least two weeks prior to class. Participants are required to read the manual, answer the knowledge reviews behind each chapter in writing and watch the video. This must be completed prior to the class beginning. When class starts students review those chapters and take quizzes. Students must also fill out a medical form and if they answer yes to any questions will need a doctor’s note before starting the class. Snorkels, mask, and fins can be rented for $15.
