Taylor Park Fishing Derby- June 9, 2012

Taylor Park Marina sits on the southern edge of Taylor Park Reservoir. At an elevation of 9300' the skies are blue, the air is light, crisp and best of all clear. We at Taylor Park Marina however can eliminate the need to bring your own equipment along for your ultimate fishing experience. They rent fishing boats, pontoons, and rent or sell all your fishing equipment needs. Taylor Park Marina carries a full line of fishing lures and bait as well as beverages and snacks for the "people needs". 

An annual Taylor Park Marina Fishing Derby is held each year and offers cash prizes for longest northern pike, largest pike by weight, most pike caught, and largest trout caught in the Taylor Park Reservor. Registration begins at 6am the morning of the Derby, with eligible fishing times between 7am to 5pm. There is an entry fee per person. Registration for the kids division is free, with non-cash prizes available.

Geology Tour of Taylor Park, Wednesdays at Western, July 13

On July 13th, 2011 travel through Taylor Canyon and Park in Gunnison, Colorado with the local geologist Bruce Bartleson to learn about the geology of the area. Discussions will center upon the glacial and structural geology of Taylor Park and why it is a large basin and how far and where glaciers extended in the region.

Make sure to bring lots of water and clothing appropriate for hiking!

The undiscovered beauty of Taylor Park makes your vacation experience more adventurous since fancy amenities are not an option. We at Taylor Park Marina, however, can eliminate the need to bring your own equipment along for your ultimate fishing experience. We rent fishing boats, pontoons, and rent or sell all your fishing equipment needs. We carry a full line of fishing lures and bait as well as beverages and snacks for the "people needs". Join us for the annual Pike Derby on June 11th 2011! 

The heaviest northern pike, the most pike caught, and the largest trout caught in the reservoir win cash prizes!
