Thank you Snow Gods!

powcam33" in the Last 3 Days... and still snowing...
Some Crested Butians built a bonfire to Ullr, the Scandinavian god of skiing, and guess it worked!

Take a look at the "powcam" from Sunday last. They clear it every day at 4 pm and it can be seen on the cbmr website - fun tracking it! eYou can also check out the grooming and trail report there.

Conditions: powder!

CROSS COUNTRY SKI OUTING FOR BEGINNERS, 50 AND BETTER
Date: 1/11/2012   Day: Wednesday   $30
Time: 8:00AM-3:00PM
Meeting Location: College Center Parking Lot
Transportation, a day pass to the Crested Butte Nordic Center, and a sack lunch are provided. Cross Country skis, boots, and poles are required for your participation in this program. These supplies can be rented at the Crested Butte Nordic Center, the Wilderness Pursuits office, or Gene Taylors.

Join Karen Immerso on a cross country ski outing. This outing is for those 50 and better in age who are interested in a gentle, learn-as-we go, classical style cross country skiing with others who enjoy being out and about in winter. First timers are encouraged to participate as beginner tips will be offered and “patience while having fun” will be the theme for the day. Participants must have skis, boots and poles. Participants should wear warm, layered clothing including hats, gloves, sunglasses, or goggles. Participants should also bring a day pack carrying 1-2 liters of water, additional snacks, and sun protection. In new snow, gaiters are recommended.

Karen Immerso, veteran field instructor for Outward Bound in Colorado and former Director of Western’s Wilderness Pursuits program, has many years of hiking, climbing, and instructing mountain skills.
