Torchlight Parade- December 24th

Crested Butte is kicking off the holiday season with a torchlight parade. The Torchlight Parade is headed up by Crested Butte Mountain Resort December 24th!

"On the Trail fo Genghis Khan" (documentary film), December 11-14th

We start the winter season with the two-part documentary, On the Trail of Genghis Kahn. In June 2004 Tim Cope set off on an epic journey, 10,000km from Mongolia to Hungary by horse. Six years and 137 hours of film later his experience can now be seen in this film. We will show part one on December 11 and part two on December 14.

USASA Southwest Series Giant Slalom Races- December 19th

Come bear witness to some of the region’s most talented young rippers as they compete to earn their spot at the 2010 USASA National Championships, December 19th.
If the spirit of competition moves you, join in for $25 per event.
Competitor lift tickets run $30 a day.
Family tickets run $45 a day.
We run 2 events per day for Alpine events.
Skiers are welcome to compete in the Slopestyle and Superpipe and Boardercross events.

Rock on Ice- December 16-18th

Nationally recognized ice sculptors will be back for a few days in December to decorate Mountaineer Square (entrance to the base area) and other locations around the mountain with beautifully crafted ice creations, many illuminated for evening viewing.

A White Wilderness Exhibition December 17th-January 8th

Come and see A White Wilderness at the Oh-Be-Joyful Gallery, featuring magnificent winter landscape paintings by Stephen C. Datz. These paintings contain a precise yet soulful interpretation of winter’s transformation of the land. From the light to the color, Datz’s paintings share his passion for the winter landscape.

Make sure to see this special exhibition by one of Colorado’s most up and coming landscape painters.

Come to the artist’s reception on Monday, December 26th from 5- 8pm. Enjoy the exhibition and meet Stephen C. Datz. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
