The Festival kicks off with acclaimed
baritone; Ron Earl. The Opera Young Artists will join Earl to create an
evening of lively hits from Broadway and The Great American Songbook. A
reception by Western State Colorado University will follow the concert.
Artists
In
2008 the Festival received 35 applicants for the 15 spots of this
coveted program. This past December over 500 applications were received
for the 15 coveted spots. The focus of the program is to prepare
today’s young artists for a professional opera career in the 21st
Century. Audiences will have an opportunity to see these amazingly
talented young artists perform scenes from famous operas, arias with the

Ron
Earl is a local favorite. Earl has a magnetic personality and his
powerful voice has been heard through out the country. Earl received
his formal training from the University of North Texas. Earl has
perfomed in Europe, Carnegie Hall, and churches around the US performing
oratorios such as Faure Requiem, Elijah and Negro Spirituals. He was
asked to perform at the summer Organ Festival in San Diego along wih
