USA Pro Cycling Challenge- August 21
- Finish Festival – Vendors,
kids area, jumbotrons, and music. Musical talent and aerial dancers will be showing off their greatest moves. The finish
festival stage will be used to host entertainment throughout the entire
race day, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21 in Mt. Crested
Butte.
- Kids Strider Cup Race – taking place on Mt. Crested Butte in the
festival area on the dirt and will include small features for the kids
to go through, up, over and around for some great entertainment. These
pedal-less bikes are teaching the youngsters great balance for many
years of biking
- Club Ride – Grab your friends and come join us in
celebrating the 2nd annual USA Pro Cycling Challenge stage race with a
friendly club ride in Crested Butte sponsored by Haskell Jewels. The
proposed route will be the ‘queen stage’ of USA PCC club rides,
including a small bit of dirt road just like the race itself does on
Cottonwood Pass!
USA Pro Cycling Challenge Club Ride 2012
- Cottonwood Shuttle – The Gunnison County Public
Works Department will be running shuttles up Cottonwood Pass for the USA
Pro Cycling Challenge. There will be 4 mini bus shuttles running
beginning at 7:00am loading at
the parking area near Taylor Park Trading Post (shuttle stop will be
signed). There may be more shuttles added if demand dictates. Please
contact Gunnison County Public Works at 970-641-0044, dferchau@gunnisoncounty.org
or come to 195 Basin Park Drive to make reservations. The fee per seat
is $10.00. These fees will be donated back to the Gunnison School
District Athletics Program for coaching staff and travel costs.
Reservations must be made prior to August 20, 2012. The shuttle drivers
will not take payment or allow anyone on the shuttle that has not made a
reservation and does not have a ticket.
- Chase The Race – Crested Butte Mountain Guides are
putting together a ride from Crested Butte to Aspen. It includes a
shuttle service for personal gear to Aspen, the guide, and vehicle
support to cumberland Basin. The ride will depart downtown Crested Butte
at 6am on August 22nd. It is a 38 mile one-way ride with a mix of
pavement, dirt, and double track road. More Info Here
